Understanding Retractable Canopy Pricing

With our retractable canopy pricing, we offer three standard fabric sizes for your retractable fabric canopy. We can also customize to almost any size up to 8.5 ft., depending on your fabric choice. After measuring and calculating your total square footage, you can determine which sizes you need to cover the desired area for your pergola shade. As a leading outdoor shade solutions company, we are here to help you find the perfect fit. *NOTE: We can create custom sizes if our standard options don't work for your project. However, a 10% upcharge may apply. *Price does not include the cost of the pergola structure or installation. *Installation is available in some areas. The average installation price is typically $100 per canopy, depending on distance and seasonal availability. Approximately 90% of our customers install their retractable canopy themselves—simply set the 4-corner eyelets as instructed, thread the cable, and tighten the turnbuckle (all hardware is provided).

How to Measure & Estimate Pricing for Your Canopies

Let's say your pergola has a 21 ft. width and a 10 ft. projection (back-to-front). Here is a breakdown of how retractable canopy pricing works:
  • [5] of the 50" standard sizes (just under 21 ft. width) would allow for all available fabrics. Depending on the fabric selection, pricing ranges from $19 to $23 per sq. ft.
  • [4] of the 64" standard sizes (21' 4" width, which we would trim down slightly to fit) would allow for most solid and mesh fabrics, but only a few basic striped fabrics. Depending on the fabric selection, pricing would range from $18 to $22 per sq. ft.
  • [3] of the 84" standard sizes (21 ft. width) would allow for all Textilene 90/95 screen and mesh fabrics and a few 80" solid fabrics. Depending on the fabric selection, pricing would range from $17 to $18 per sq. ft.
The width measurement determines whether to use standard sizes with standard pricing or custom sizes with a 10% upcharge (if customizing more than a couple of inches off each canopy width). The 'projection' (back to front—mounting point to mounting point) can be any increment and does not require a custom size. Often, customers use a combination of sizes and/or colors (e.g., stripe/solid/stripe) to achieve the best price and create a decorative look for their project.

Additional Decorative Hangdown Valances

Add decorative hangdown valances to your canopies for $40 per canopy ($50 on sizes larger than 60"). Hangdowns are typically 12-16 inches in drop-down length but can be made shorter if desired.

  • TIER 2 PRICING - Using Sunbrella Solid or Stripe Fabric or Textilene Screen and Mesh Fabric: $20 per sq. ft.
  • TIER 3 PRICING - Using Fire Resist or Premium Fabrics: $23 per sq. ft.
